Prevention Science Pioneer William B. Hansen
Great organizations are made of great professionals. Senior Research Scientist William B. (Bill) Hansen Ph.D. is truly one of the greats in prevention science. Widely recognized as an expert in alcohol and drug prevention, Bill has written numerous curricula for school and community-based prevention, including Project SMART, Project STAR, and All Stars. His articles in scientific journals on research and evaluation methods, prevention theory, and strategies for successful prevention practice are some of the most cited in those subject matter; rankings of which can be found here.
In 2001, Bill was the recipient of the Society for Prevention Research “Science to Practice” award, recognizing his contribution to designing evidence-based approaches to prevention that can be used in real world settings. In 2013, he was named a Fellow of the Society for Prevention Research.
