Emily Kroshus, ScD, MPH Associate Professor University of Washington The goal of Dr. Kroshus work is to create safe, healthy and growth-oriented sport cultures so that participants can develop positive psychological skills and a life-long love of physical activity.
Kelly Rulison, Ph.D.
Kelly Rulison, PhD is an associate professor in Human Development and Family Studies at Penn State and is also part of the university’s new Consortium to Combat Substance Use. As a prevention scientist and developmental methodologist, Dr. Rulison uses multiple methodological techniques to study how peer networks shape substance use and related health-risk behaviors. Much of her research focuses on substance use and related health-risk behaviors –such as delinquency, suicidal behaviors, and sexual violence—during adolescence and emerging adulthood. Dr Rulison earned her PhD in HDFS and a Masters in Applied Statistics at Penn State.
GracieLee Weaver, Ph.D.
Dr. GracieLee Weaver is a Research Associate at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She formerly worked as a program coordinator for the Board Certified Coach (BCC) credential at the Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE) and became a Certified Health Coach offering health coaching services to UNCG employees. She received her PhD in Community Health Education at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her current work is focused on the development, implementation, and evaluation of health promotion interventions in the workplace. She is familiar with trends in workplace wellness in the U.S. and experienced with assessing organizations’ needs related to the health, wellness, and safety of employees.
Kathy Turpin, Ph.D.
Dr. Kathy Turpin earned a Ph.D. in Leadership and Higher Education Administration from Barry University. She also earned a master’s degree in sport sociology from Western Illinois University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she was a four-year starter on the women’s basketball team.
Dr. Turpin is President/CEO of K Turpin Consulting, LLC, specializing in consulting services to national sports organizations, collegiate athletics, and higher education administration. Her areas of expertise include program review and assessment, compliance, leadership development, hiring and personnel management, strategic planning, gender equity and Title IX, student-athlete health and well-being, drug use and abuse education, and best practices for implementing a drug deterrence program. Her professional experience also includes more than 25 years as a collegiate athletics administrator and coach.
