100+ University of Arkansas – Little Rock Faculty & Staff Participate in GUIDE Training
As part of our partnership with MidSOUTH at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Prevention Strategies is bringing GUIDE Empathic Communication Skills Training to colleges and universities in Arkansas—supporting our wider substance use prevention efforts by helping strengthen campus communities.
We kicked things off with an amazing group at Hendrix College in February, and just last week, we had the privilege of training 100+ faculty and staff at UA – Little Rock!
GUIDE equips educators with practical skills to have supportive, empathic conversations with students while maintaining healthy boundaries and connecting students to campus resources when needed. These everyday interactions foster a more connected, supportive environment for students, which can play a role in preventing substance use and mental health crises.
