itMatters

itMatters began as a 5-year RO1 research grant funded through the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA). The initial research targeted the intersection between alcohol use and sexual behaviors and the impacts that alcohol use can have in increasing college student’s risk for acquiring an STI.

The first web-based behavioral intervention to specifically target the intersection between alcohol use and sexual behaviors of college students, itMatters specifically targets descriptive and injunctive norms held by students and consist of important content relevant to today's college student.

Expanding on the original research, itMatters is now an online intervention for college students, targeting the intersection of alcohol and sexual risk behaviors, sexual violence prevention, mental wellness and sleep wellness.
